I find it quite strange that AC/DC blew up so huge literally everywhere, but basically no other pub rock band escaped Oz and its environs worth even a mention. If you were to tell people here
in the US
that AC/DC isn’t strictly its own genre and there are other such bands
, they would be amazed.
Of course, I listen to Rose Tattoo, but I’m not

I don’t believe it’s quite the same genre, probably just Aussie punk instead of pub rock , but I’ve been digging Amyl and the sniffers, C.O.F.F.I.N, and the chats lately.

Pretty weird eh. I don’t know how spread it is even in Aus, but I’d say a lot of our smaller gig rooms have that sort of thing pumping every night.
